Proof the scientists get the good shit...
LONDON (AP) – People who use marijuana before driving are nearly twice as likely to cause a car crash as those not under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to a Canadian analysis of previous studies.
Experts at Dalhousie University in Canada reviewed nine studies of more than 49,000 people involved in accidents on public roads involving one or more motor vehicles, including cars, trucks, buses and motorcycles. Marijuana use was confirmed by blood tests or self-reporting.
Researchers found drivers who had used marijuana within three hours of beginning to drive had nearly double the risk of causing a collision, especially those that were fatal.
Marijuana is the most widely used illegal drug worldwide and rates of its use in drivers are increasing. A 2007 study in Scotland found 15 percent of 537 drivers aged 17 to 39 had used marijuana within 12 hours.
Some experts said education campaigns about the dangers of doing drugs before driving wouldn't work.
People "will also need to be persuaded that they are at risk of their cannabis use being detected," wrote Wayne Hall of the University of Queensland in an accompanying editorial.
Hall said more research was needed to prove whether roadside drug testing, as introduced in parts of Australia and the U.S., actually prevents more drug-related car accidents.
The study was published Friday in the journal, BMJ.

Are pot smokers the only people with common sense?

If the bullshit in this a"study" were true California would be one giant trauma scene, with burning cars and bodies clogging every roadway.
Half the population would be paramedics and the other half would be on fire!

The government and the "intellectual elite" think we are so stupid we will believe their lies over our own life experience.

Did you notice they never mentioned the cause?

Is it loss of focus?
Have you ever heard a Wiz Khalifa track?
Did you see Tim Lincecum pitch in the World Series?

Loss of motor skills?
Tell that to world famous bong milker and Olypmic Record Gold Medalist Michael Phelps...

Is Canada that afraid of weed?

Is it because weed is liberating free thinkers or decimating pharmaceutical profits?

OOPS! Free Shit Sucks.
Recently, the largest social network and strain-finder in the medical marijuana business acquired aPoint-Of-Sale system (POS) from MMJMenu for marijuana dispensaries that they are now offering for free.

The availability of this free service will allow those dispensaries that don’t feel they can afford $5 to $10 per day for a professional system the ability to start tracking their sales and patients.  It’s a start, and an important evolutionary step towards legitimacy.

MJ Freeway’s stated mission is: “...to bring legitimacy to this industry and Cannabis in all of its forms.” We believe the best way to do this is by providing a professionally-built, safe and reliable system to track harvests, sales and patients; and by offering a wide variety of quality choices of integration partners. Our software is geared to help Medical Marijuana businesses stay open and succeed, while also being a part of a community dedicated to this industry’s growth.  We know that states and municipalities are looking to all of us to work together in defining best practices and utilizing tools that prove successful diversion control and a transparent way to show that licensed businesses are acting within compliance regulation. Our software is built on that premise and this means our development team must have the resources and be flexible enough to meet each state’s standards as they change.

This kind of commitment to legitimacy is not free and it never will be, not if it’s done right.

It remains to be seen whether WeedMaps will invest in their software to bring it up to a professional standard that this industry should demand.  It also pushes MJ Freeway to deliver even more value to our growers, sellers and over 500,000 patients who trust our system for their record keeping with emphasis on compliance and patient privacy.

Some of the additional value that MJ Freeway delivers for a few dollars a day includes:
  • HIPAA level security standards so you know your patient information is not in jeopardy and your links are secured.
  • HIPAA standards for patient information sharing, so you know your patient secured information won’t automatically end up with any social network.
  • 20+ line item integration into QuickBooks for professional financial tracking
  • Unparalleled technical support
  • Professional and legitimate text and email marketing
  • Online ordering that pulls from real time inventory
  • Real-time data integration with not only WeedMaps but over 20 other companies that provide strainfinding, testing, or other product related data.
  • A professionally built and secured system that reconciles to the gram and to the dollar

We trust that serious businesses in the industry will recognize a clear distinction between a free POS and the professionally-built MMJ management system that MJ Freeway customers rely on for their compliance, financial tracking, and profitability.

A few short years ago, WeedMaps entered the strain-locator service market, offering WeedMaps for free for a while until they had the market traction to require the hefty premiums they are charging now for WeedMaps advertising.  Obviously, those premiums have afforded them the ability to make this acquisition (and hopefully to bring this POS up to standard).  As a public company, I am certain that their commitment to their shareholders is to maximize their return on this strategy, as it should be.

At MJ Freeway, we strive for a more professional and reliable relationship. As the industry leader,  we have the customer base and resources necessary to continue  the evolution and support our product.  A significant portion of our current customer base has upgraded to MJ Freeway from their previous POS system; including  the system recently acquired by WeedMaps. We welcome every dispensary that can afford to professionally protect patent data, track grow information, integrate marketing information, and reconcile financial information.

Watch this testimonial from one of our customers who came to MJ Freeway after finding that other discount systems just weren't worth the risk.

Please tweet/email/print this post and get it to your dispensary owner TODAY!

We have all felt the shift. It started with a few raids in LA and Colorado, immediately preceding a reported statement from President Obama that his administration would not be raiding dispensaries, and has continued in court rulings, votes, more raids, and now Santorum in Colorado?

The evidence is clear. The authority loving religious zealots are fighting back big time and they're on the verge of victory.
Is it merely ironic that theses crackdowns have intensified as the evidence of a CURE FOR CANCER is increasingly obvious?
We are about to get a lesson in how people are treated that stand in the way of corporate profit, like the people who just happen to live above all that oil in the desert.

Under a Santorum or Romney Administration, we are CRIMINALS.
Criminals deserving of the same intensity of eradication that the State would use against rapists, murderers or terrorists!.

Dispensaries are going to be shut down. Period. NONE.
Is your personal information there? Held onsite?
You better find out, because if it is, expect to have your door kicked in, your dog executed, hopefully not your kids or spouse, and a nice long mandatory prison sentence.

You can't grow your own cure, that's bad for business.

Prisons employ a lot of "great americans" and that is good for business.

This is where the print this out NOW part comes in to play:

If your dispensary does not, nor is willing to pay a few hundred dollars/month out of the TEN's of Thousands they make in sales, to ensure your information is GUARANTEED HIPAA compliant and stored in third party secure servers...

Santorum?

Really Colorado?

This November Colorado has decided that they would like the opportunity to vote to legalize Marijuana in their state. They have also decided that their choice for GOP President should be a guy that wants to execute Marijuana smokers and homosexuals. " Santorum voted to increase penalties for drug offenders. Santorum does not support medical marijuana or recreational marijuana. Santorum is a supporter of the death penalty, "When there is certainty, that's the case that capital punishment can be used."

Why Does Colorado hate itself? Does Colorado need an intervention?

Are the vast majority of Cannabis supporters in Colorado, Obama Democrats?
The same Obama that told us MMJ raids would be low priority, right before he unleashed the dogs with bigger crackdowns than even Bush could muster?
The same Obama that wants to put you in prison for trying to help sick people while he ships 1000's of MACHINE GUNS to Mexican Drug Cartels!?!?!?!
Do you think the Machine Gun toting Cartels support MMJ in Colorado, or do you think if they get a chance, they will open fire on you with their Obama guns? Eliminate the competition.

I was actually considering moving to Colorado! LMAO. I have lost all respect for Colorado. Enjoy your Gulag.

Oakland, CA (PRWEB) February 05, 2012

In a major scientific development for the cannabis industry, an exciting and advanced new technology has recently been launched at the nation's leading medical cannabis dispensary, Harborside Health Center, located in Oakland, California. Harborside is the first in the region to implement and utilize the new technology, "QuantaCann," after months of beta testing and collaborations with developer Steep Hill Lab, an Oakland cannabis testing facility.

QuantaCann's new technology is an innovative software and scientific instrumentation system that is used on-site at dispensaries and collectives to test strains and provide quick results. In minutes, QuantaCann analyzes the strain, providing data about THC and CBD potency levels, moisture content, and many other components of the plant. In addition to other fields of critical strain-specific data, the system catalogs symptoms and medical conditions that the strains are being utilized for, providing a valuable database of information for future research.

"This new system is a game changer for the entire industry," says Steve DeAngelo, the Executive Director of Harborside...

DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) — A North Dakota jury acquitted one of two Lithuanian men accused of trying to transport nearly 50 pounds of marijuana from Washington state to Chicago two years ago, and the other man voluntarily left the country.

The jury deliberated for less than an hour Thursday before finding Arturas Teras not guilty of possession with the intent to deliver the drugs, The Dickinson Press reported

Donatas Jasiulionis, who was also arrested during the November 2009 traffic stop, returned to his European homeland and will face immediate arrest if he ever returns to the U.S., said his attorney, Kelly Armstrong.

Stark County State’s Attorney Tom Henning said it’s unlikely authorities will try to extradite Jasiulionis. Read more...

Medical Marijuana Laws are being passed in more states every year. It is time that the manufacture and transportation of medical marijuana be regulated in much the same manner that wine is regulated.
The MMJ industry has become a legitimate business and companies are stepping up to provide cutting edge cannabis specific solutions to the marijuana business model.
Dispensary and delivery software solutions, think MMJ POS on steroids, are being developed to help legitimize the Medical Marijuana industry and allow us to keep our prices low and focus on providing quality medication to our patients.

SOQUEL, Calif. -- Boulder Creek Collective founder Marc Whitehill, a former nurse, has seen a lot of people come through his doors seeking medical marijuana, enough that he thinks he has a pretty clear idea of the patient demographic at most local dispensaries.

He estimates 60 percent are 40 or older and use cannabis "to avoid taking much harsher pharmaceutical alternatives to treat nausea, sleeplessness, anxiety and aches and pains," he said. They use the medicine instead of resorting to common prescription painkillers and tranquilizers.

Another 20 percent are youngsters with no visible signs of illness.

"With them, I have to trust the physician that they made the right call," he said.

But the last category, the 20 percent who are chronically or terminally ill receive special attention at the Boulder Creek Collective. If not for these patients, medical cannabis might not have grown into a burgeoning industry.

One such patient is Gary Goldsworthy, 42, who was given a free membership at the collective in exchange for volunteer hours about two years ago. Goldsworthy was diagnosed with Crohn's disease, an inflammatory bowel disorder that triggers the immune system to attack the gastro-intestinal tract, when he was 27.

Rep. K. L. Brown, of Calhoun County, has filed legislation into the Alabama House of Representatives that would make medical marijuana legal.

As reported by the Aniston Star, Ron Crumpton, co-president and executive director of the Alabama Medical Marijuana Coalition, is optimistic about the legislation’s chances.

“I don’t think it will be that much of an uphill battle,” Crumpton said. “Many of the Republicans who took over the Legislature in the last election are younger guys—between 30 and 45—who don’t associate the same stigma with marijuana that older people … do.”

We’re pleased to see Brown is giving Alabama another chance to take a step forward on the road of personal responsibility. We’ve lived for too long in a state and nation governed by people who believe they know better than we how to run our lives.

HALF MOON BAY, Calif. —

San Mateo County authorities on Wednesday seized more than 1,500 marijuana plants, approximately 19 pounds of processed marijuana and several guns from a Princeton warehouse complex that was being used to conceal an illegal indoor marijuana grow operation and a residence connected to the operation.

The estimated value of the processed marijuana recovered is $60,800 and the value of the plants is approximately $1.2 million, authorities said.

The San Mateo County Narcotics Task Force, with the assistance of the Half Moon Bay Patrol Bureau of the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office, executed two search warrants Wednesday night after receiving an "investigative lead from a reliable source," according to the task force.

One man, Lask Tsatsaronis, 37, was arrested at the warehouse complex in the 200 block of Yale Avenue in Princeton without incident.... Read more
